Images From Our Window, Volume II

Acef Stripe Recordings

Volume 2 of 'Images From Our Window' delivers on the lofty heights promised on the now three year old Volume 1, eschewing the ambient detours in favour of delivering a consistency-focused series of absolute bangers, at times tinged with sadness, at others, propelled by a terrific sense of optimism, at times, paradoxically, producer extraordinaire David Svrjcek achieves both at the same time, which ought to be heard to be believed.

Aelita

Adam Majdecki-Janicki

Inspired by the Yakov Protazanov movie of the same title (1924), this track was inspired by futurism, New Age, and folk music. It's a synthesizer improvisation. It's deep ambient for exploration of space. I hope you enjoy it.

The Land of Sannikov

"The Land of Sannikov" is a calm ambient piece reflecting on the Land of Sannikov legend. A lost island is an utopia portrayed with endless meandering hot springs and a volcano in the center. The piece was improvised and is inspired by folk music.

Gerhard Lallinger: Bass
Udo Gerhards: Keys

Produced by RCV Productions

Mixed by Ray Cipolla & Udo Gerhards

Cover painting "Das Ding auf der Schwelle" by Peter Frohmader

Cover design by Ulrich Miksa

Live audio engineer: Michi Greger

Live photos: Volker Derlath

Many thanks to the team of Kulturkeller Westend, esp. Günther Klingler and Michi
Greger.

As some of you might know, our long-time friend and bandmate Peter Frohmader died
suddenly and unexpectedly in May of 2022. But we, the three remaining Nekropolis members Ray, Gerhard and Udo kept making music together after Peter's passing.

A couple of months ago we organized a memorial concert for Peter, close to the one
year anniversary of his passing (and his birthday as well). There, three bands
connected to Peter played - among them Nekropolis '22, which is the name of the new
trio formed by the former Nekropolis members (named so with the blessing of Peter's
widow Antje). We were able to multi-track record our performance at this concert and
the recording turned out so well that we decided to make a release out of it.

As for the music itself, it is completely improvised. But fear not! This is neither free jazz
noodling nor jam rock. We still try to practice what Peter liked to call "spontaneous
composition": Improvisations that have structure and lead somewhere (of course
there's some jazzy stuff in there, but also Hammond Organ, Mellotron and more). And I
think we were quite lucky to have recorded a gig where we came quite close to this
goal, IMHO. This paired with the excellent sound quality of the multi-track recordings
resulted in this release. Special thanks go out to the live engineer Michi Greger and to
Uli Miksa for the cover design!

Tantrum Zentrum

Music by Franz Schubert, re-imagined by Sabine de Rousseau.

This release contains the radio edit only.
Dolby Atmos version is available on Apple Music, Tidal and similar.

Vaat Dafuq – vocals, guitar
Sabine de Rousseau – guitar, piano
Valhalla Schimmer – bass guitar
Julian Rowlands – bandoneon
Igor Olejar – drums, double bass

Produced by Stephen Evans and Tantrum Zentrum. Recorded at The Fortress, UK by Stephen Evans. Mixed in stereo and Dolby Atmos by Stephen Evans.

German pronunciation guidelines given by Sabine Höpfner and Sabine Zöllner of Tvashtar.

This brilliantly put together mini-masterpiece is a masterclass in tasteful and pleasurable tune-creation, not to mention album sequencing. Sounding like a soundtrack to a half-hour populist 80's Science fiction series, Acef Stripe has synthesized a glorious gold nugget of an album that's sure to satisfy your electronic cravings. It really can't be understated how fun this lovely little record is.

A Gate To Eternity

Kamarius

A Gate To Eternity is an awaited Electronic album including some projects started more than 7 years ago and some very new songs. The Ambient sounds are less prominent and it is more about sequences and rhythms, but the album has some nice surprises and I invite you to explore it with patience and attention.
Unfortunately the track that gave the name of the album is not included here because I couldn’t recover the project to finish it but the theme of the album kept the initial direction so the main idea is still alive. Along with the sound of the synths there are some nice voices, percussions, organic atmospheres and other beautiful sounds.
Enjoy this sonic journey!
