Empty Space

Mother Derange

"Empty Space," the second album from Mother Derange, is a dark and cinematic concept record that blends crushing hard rock with science fiction horror and apocalyptic storytelling. Across 12 explosive tracks, the album chronicles humanity’s rise into deep space exploration — and the catastrophic consequences that follow.

After scientists develop revolutionary space flight technology, humans begin strip-mining distant planets and harvesting resources across the galaxy. Massive industrial fleets leave trails of debris, abandoned machinery and toxic waste drifting through space. Unknown to humanity, hidden alien organisms begin infecting the discarded wreckage, mutating metal, flesh and technology into horrifying hybrid creatures. What starts as a technological golden age quickly spirals into a nightmare.

As the album progresses, the alien species launches a full-scale invasion of Earth using grotesque biomechanical monsters created from humanity’s own waste and greed. Cities collapse, governments fail and survivors are forced into underground resistance movements while the invaders reshape the planet into a hostile new world. The story’s final chapters follow humanity’s desperate uprising against its alien overlords, balancing moments of rebellion and hope against the growing realization that extinction may already be inevitable.

Musically, "Empty Space" expands Mother Derange’s sound with heavier riffs, atmospheric electronics, industrial textures and haunting melodic passages that amplify the album’s tension and cinematic scope. The songs move between furious aggression, eerie ambience and emotionally charged breakdowns, reflecting both the chaos of interstellar war and the despair of a conquered civilization.

Bleak, ambitious and immersive, "Empty Space" transforms Mother Derange from a hard rock band into storytellers of cosmic horror, delivering a relentless concept album about greed, destruction and humanity creating the very force that may erase it forever.

Once There Was A Little Boy

Eden Grey

I wrote these songs over the summer of 2023 using some plugins that I wanted for years and finally got, by Rob Papen. I was inspired by teaching the youth summer camps in electronic music. I named it after my son because he turned 6 in July and I was so happy when I bought him a Minecraft birthday cake. I threw him a little party at our house and it was really special. I dedicate a lot of my work to my son, Anthony Vangelis as being a single mom raising him has been an all-encompassing experience. Being a parent is such a magical and strenuous experience.

The Ministry of Machine Building

The Light Dreams

"I was not free. I knew that well. Building the machines that dominate our world was the focus of my life, and there could be no escape from that role. The machines of the modern age would bring coercion to our society, which was no less a constraint for those who constructed them."

The Ministry of Machine Building is a science fiction concept album drawing from classic SF films and literature, such as Nineteen-Eighty Four, Metropolis and THX1138.

Nebula

Kostas G

We are proud to present our debut release from Ostrich Recordings, featuring 2 Breakbeat offerings from Kostas G.

Nebula takes you on a journey full of pulsing sub bass, rave stabs and tones, until you find yourself adrift in a nebulous cloud of hazy pads and alien-like soundscapes.

Spacewalk sounds like you have stepped out of the airlock into zero gravity. A driving sub-bass propels the track forwards, while bleepy hooks and a bubbling arpeggiated synth pattern culminate in a floaty washed-out breakdown.

We hope you enjoy our first release!

Do Humans Dream Of Electronic Ships

Philippe Petit

Originally released on CD by Opa-Loka Records, in Germany. It included a second CD offering a 50+ minute live + an electroacoustic composition...

An hommage to Philip K. Dick’s « Blade Runner: Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep ».
A series of collaborations paying tribute to science-fictional aesthetics, imagery, and futuristic approach at least in its concrete approach and desire to break genre limitations… Science-Fiction and its quest to solve the unexplained has always been stimulating the imagination of Men, allowing to project into possible futures… Space and the unknown. Science… Fiction… An exploration of inner spaces, cinematic dreams, “forbidden planets »…

01. The Journey
Vox Continental Organ + Cymbalom + Electric Psalterion + Cello + Arp 2600 +Turntablism & Fingernail Rubbings by Chantal Rouet

02. Landing - Immersion
Moog Modular System 55 + Vox Continental Organ

03. Encounters of the 6th kind... Buchla Easel - The Electric Music Box

04. A night with three moons
Buchla Easel + Moog Model 12 + Theremin
+ Grand Piano + Percs + Prepaired Vinyls / Turntablisms + Processed Voices/Choir + Guitar

05. Return to tomorrow... Is this the end? Wurlitzer + Percs + Electric Psalterion + Piano
+ RSF Expander Kobol + Roland Fantom G6 + Mini- moog Model D + Turntablism + Guitar + Cymbalom

In search of a personal sound: sequencing color, forms and range, disrupting timbre and harmonics, de-uniting the principles of horizontality (melody) and those of verticality (chords), modulating a “perpetual timbric movement » always in mutation, a sound of both substance and shadow, a voyage into a new dimension: a Twilight Zone.
