Chromatic Fields

The Slow Motion album combines fresh tracks and previously released singles, but with an updated sound. The tracks are inspired by 1940s noir and downbeat electronica. Each tune delves into a world of mystery, drama and urban nighttime romance. The music of Chromatic Fields can be characterised as follows: lyrical compositions with keyboard and brass parts combined with synthesizer elements under hip-hop percussion.

The name of the project Chromatic Fields is a reference to colour chromatic fields from colour theory, which include different colours and shades in a certain sequence. Slow Motion is the author's second numbered album. The debut was called Ready to the Way and was also released on Label Cantroll.

Nomads Music

Nordgroove

This year Nordgroove has prepared to release the fifth album Nomads music - a perfect continuation of the project's discography, which is a sign of quality instrumental music.

Central to the music were ethnic string melodies and dense synth bass and pads, typical of styles such as garage and breaks. This gave the album a more danceable and powerful foundation. Simultaneously energetic and soothing - Nordgroove's new work hypnotises and mesmerises the listener. Jazz brass, classical orchestral string instruments and guitars are retained. This is a ready set for those who seek harmony and beauty in music. For those who seek harmony and beauty in music. The release is out on Label Cantroll (like all previous albums).

Zaranka

Zaranka's new chillout album is inspired by 70's soul tunes, intertwining solo parts on a virtual emulator of a vintage Wurlitzer piano and fairytale motifs of traditional Far Eastern instruments (koto, guzheng). Positive vibes fill the music and all this, together with leisurely beats and deep bass lines, creates a special atmosphere.

The artwork was done by Paradeigma. The release is an anniversary release, released in Label Cantroll's catalog at number 200.

He has previously released music on the Lemongrassmusic, and IONO Lounge labels. "Zaranka" means "early morning" in the dialect of the kuban cossacks.

kbkbts.

Melancholic samples, thoughtful and minimalistic pads, abstract imagery adapted into slow broken hip-hop #beats and lo-fi sound.

The name “kbkbts.” - is an acronym for Kubik Beats. In his portfolio the project from Belarus has joint tracks with beatmakers mostovbeats, Nastavazvuk and Enzzy Beatz. He is a member of RAW KITCHEN team, resident of Label Cantroll.

From the author: "Night is the time of revelations. Especially the so-called period of intense personal inner struggle. Plunging into total darkness, into the void, a person separates from those parts of his life that no longer serve him, rethinks his beliefs, views, habits and attitudes towards all things. One gets rid of one's old and false self, revises one's moral values, gains an understanding and sense of ethereal connections, recognizes one's true being and transforms into one's "true self". But no matter how long, hard and dark this period is, there is always light at the end of the tunnel and this light is the true awakening, rebirth from a caterpillar into a butterfly. Everything has its sunset and only the night ends with the dawn."

Refreshing Time

Ogi Feel the Beat

The album "Refreshing Time" from Serbian beatmaker Ogi Feel the Beat continues the artist's main approach and style: a combination of chill-hop and abstract hip-hop, combining the best of both genres. Many might categorize this album as background music, and that's actually its strongest trait. There are no vocals here, but it is captivating with its laid-back melodies and nice samples. The music doesn't distract from the process, so it's convenient to listen to it while working or studying. The tracks are suitable both for walks around the city and for working everyday life. They will help you relax and remove all negative thoughts from your head.

Stronger than the Problems

Life is full of various problems and adversities that can be a serious test of our moral strength. To learn how to overcome these difficulties, it is important to realize that problems are an inevitable part of life. No one is immune. Instead of complaining about life, we need to accept difficulties as a challenge and an opportunity for personal growth. We need to learn to adapt to changing circumstances, look for ways to solve problems while remaining optimistic.

Problems can trigger different emotions in us, such as anger, fear, or anxiety. Instead of developing these emotions, listen to the album "Stronger than the Problems" from Serbian beatmaker Ogi Feel the Beat, released on Label Cantroll. Stay calm and give yourself time.

Arom

Listen tracks from the third official album by the French duo Arom.

These songs were recorded in 2002-2004. However, the duo broke up and the songs - mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios - went into oblivion after a while and were not published. Twenty years later, #LabelCantroll releases two full-lengths: the eponymous Arom and A La Vie. This was made possible thanks to a label listener who spent a year looking for writers, convincing them to officially publish the songs and collecting all the source material.

Their music is #triphop and #indie pop, created with groovebox and synths, constantly going into different sounds - trip-rock, soul or acid jazz. The main thing is the vocals in French and English, somewhat reminiscent of Björk. The authors of the project are Dominique for the music and Caroline for the vocals. The name Arom is a combination of the letters of the names (cARoline and dOMinique).

ramki vospriyatiya

A project from Belarus, founded in the middle of 2020. Mixing #beats with samples of melancholic funk and jazz artists, seasoned with atmospheric and chill pads, the author makes a minimalistic tube sound using Akai MPC500 as the main instrument. The name "kbkbts." - is short for Kubik Beats.
From the author: "The album ramki vospriyatiya tells us that thanks to many frames and filters, the sleeping mind of most people is not able to realize and accept even a small part of the reality, which exists contrary to these frames of perception. It's a wonderful world with no inhibitions, no boundaries, and no accepted patterns.

Samurai File

The Eighth

The second release with a "samurai" title from The Eighth. The 27-track album "Samurai File" is essentially a compilation consisting of two previously released EPs, unreleased demos, and a reissue of the Time-Travelling Samurai album.

Musically, it's #abstract_hiphop and acid jazz steeped in #lofi and broadway aesthetics. Recorded in an Ardour 5 DAW running in a Debian Linux environment. The album uses digital-analog sound processing with a Roland SP-404SX sampler and an Elektron Analog Heat effects processor. Digital remasters are done in REAPER.

"I originally had the idea of writing a short story with a retro-futuristic theme, featuring a time-traveling samurai and a detective from the future trying to catch him. In a kind of philosophical sense, I'm like a 'time-traveling samurai' myself - I worked on these tracks for several years, dropping them many times, then coming back to them again and almost ruining the whole project in an extremely long production process" - The Eighth.
