Resilience

Liberated Turmoil

Six tracks. The “Who Are You to Judge” EP (released October, 2019) was where the anger first broke the surface. This is where it found a shape.

This was LT's second year making music, and her second year of something larger: a slow process of becoming. Reevaluating, rebuilding, learning to see herself differently. There was resentment in it, and there was hope in it. Making something real, something she could stand behind, was one of the few things she could hold onto while everything else was being taken apart and looked at again.

The sound reflects that. EBM, techno, industrial, layered with a dark melodic atmosphere that has always felt like home.

Your Lover's Skin and All Souls Are Troubled carry piano melodies that are as beautiful as they are wrong. Creepiness took the hand of Tenderness, and neither let go.

Itchy Feeling and Let Me Out move at techno speed, restless and physical. The female vocal in the latter pulls the track toward something heavier, somewhere between industrial and metal.

I Came_ I Worked_ I Left is built around a bassline groove and the sounds of a factory floor. The workday starts at the beginning. Interruptions come in the middle. At the end, a wrench drops. The song knows exactly where it came from.

Don't Waste Your Time carries LT's voice, used sparingly then. The message is simple and has only grown louder with time: one life, one shot, nothing waiting for you on the other side of later. The track is repetitive, almost skeletal. That's what makes it land the way it does.

The album's name came from something earned rather than chosen. Resilience is not a quality you are given. It is built slowly, against pressure, against noise, against the pull of everything outside yourself. When it is finally yours, you can go a long way with it.
