Second compilation series, 24th and last release of the Antistandard recruiting system.

"AntiWorld Z" is the following of "AntiWorld A" compilation out in July 2020, offering the last world research of the label.
Still refusing any kind of classification and cataloguing, more than 50 tracks close definitely the yellowblack project born in 2018.
Thanks so much from the depths of our souls to all the artists involved in this work and in the past releases and radioshows.
We'll fight standards forever.

VVV022 / SexSafariSex ✮ Inmamiro

Antistandard Recs reaches release number 22.
SexSafariSex hails from Trani, a maritime town in Apulia: "Inmamiro", in co-production with the collectives Water Wings and U_UZ3R, is the follow-up to his deadly track Shylana, featured on our AntiWorld A compilation.

Composed at home while life was being paralyzed by the pandemic, Inmamiro is a visceral work which bears traces of a Dionysian impulse to live, dance, and share moments of collective ecstasy with others. Across five tracks, SexSafariSex lets the listener jump into his sonic world, euphoric and intoxicating in equal measure. Listen carefully and you will be able to feel the heat and the rawness of Apulia: be it through the mid-tempo of dancehall-n-dembow rhythms recalling Southern pace of everyday life, or the gritty textures and vocal samples which paint a vivid portrait of streets and people in Apulian urban fabric.
Ultimately, Inmamiro is a journey through memories and desire, a vivid portrait of SexSafariSex’s creative imagination and producing skills.

___________________________________________________________◢

✮ SexSafariSex is 1/4 of Water Wings, a collective of producers from Apulia. He release a track in the AntiWorld A compilation for Antistandard Recs, another track in the AntiCovid Squad free compilation, plus other self-released stuff. His attitude is raw, tribal and hardcore, pure dance music from the near future.

VVV021 / Halfcastle ✮ Black Tide

Antistandard continues its journey into sound with “Black Tide”, the third official album by Demetrio Cecchitelli aka Halfcastle. After releases on Biodiversità Records, Weird Tapes Rekords, and Ghost City Collective, the Italian young and talented artist now enters the Antistandard extended family.

The seven-tracks album is the apex of five years spent experimenting in the fields of ambient-noise and electroacoustic music, conflating freak ambient dream-like qualities with post-rock structures.
“Black Tide” slowly unfolds as a soundtrack to an imaginary movie. It invites the listener to abandon themselves to its sound and drift off, as if lulled by waves. The black tide of the title suggests a dark atmosphere, yet its darkness never overflows into hopeless bleakness. Instead, it’s a deep and immersive work, spiritual and tance-inducing in its repetitions.

✮ Halfcastle is the side moniker of multi-instrumentalist and research musician Demetrio Cecchitelli. Performed from 2016 to 2020 in venues such as NUB Project Space, Wash Up! (Santarcangelo Festival) with ?Alos, Bologna Elettrica (XM24), and many others. Released on the Italian labels Switch Music Recordings, Biodiversità Records, Ghost City Collective and DDD - Daily Delivered Drones among others.

Skenghis Kahn

Third step of Antitracks series and twentieth release of Antistandard Recs; we're about to become adults!

"Antitracks C" is the 3rd episode of a three-tracks selection by three different artists, selected extending the connection between three distant but close places at the same time, all around 160 bpm: London (UK) with Skenghis Kahn; Putignano (Bari, IT) with RAIS; and Encarnación (Paraguay) with Qetsy.

___________________________________________________________◢

✮ Skenghis Kahn, East London based with releases on Dib Discs, Patchbay and Reptilian Establishment, wraps clicky percussive sounds and dark bass movement together, focusing on the space between genre. This space lends lots of creative potential as it's freed by classification and cam roam freely in the sonic wilderness.

✮ RAIS, bass music DJ class 1987, was resident at Kode_1 and for the Farm Festival, also carrying his sets to the stage of various events such as Outlook Festival, Locus, Sparks, Hermit, Cellamare Music, Underwood and shared the booth with various international artists like Kode9, DJ Vadim, Dub FX, Clap! Clap!, Peggy Gou, and many more.

✮ Qetsy a.k.a. DJ CHEESEBREAD is an electronic musician, music producer, DJ and teacher from Paraguay, founder of Pohañaná Records. Active with 10 EPs, 7 albums and compilation releases on labels such as Mega.rec (Barcelona), spinneret (New York), District160 (Minneapolis), Abyss (Buenos Aires), Antistandard Recs (Milan), Juke Bounce Werk (Los Angeles), Footwork Reddit (Poland) and Adaadat (UK). Creator of the ‘(one hundred [and] sixty)’ and the ‘The Lazy Anarchist’ radioshows, plus the online festival ‘FTWRK, ETC. FEST'.

OH91

Antistandard Recs is really proud to present their 19th release. Brexit notwithstanding, we look bring you to UK: Bristol is the place, OH91 is the man. After his deadly "USB" track featured on our AntiWorld A compilation, the acclaimed grime producer delivers real warfare material on this one.

"Nei Denti" (literally "in the teeth") is an Italian common saying, especially in the South of Italy: it also directly refers to the FIAT tank crawler photographed for the cover artwork, dating back to the First World War. Deadly weapons are indeed to be found on this EP: four grime/trap beats with a devastating impact. Zero compromises. Fresh, fierce, functional. Raw basslines, grimey arches, heavy drums: call your friend MC and make them spit some bullets on this one. It gets to you... nei denti.

✮ OH91 is a Bristol-based producer. With releases on White Peach, Coyote, Pearly Whites, Trapped Audio, Banana Stand Sound, Durkle Disco, Strictly 140, plus the slew of self-released and dubplate stuff, he is a pioneer in grime beatmaking.
OH91 has played for Boiler Room, and his tracks have been played by Spooky, Sir Spyro, Kahn & Neek, Koast, Sir Hiss, Litmus G and many others; he keeps himself busy also with shows and mixes for Rinse FM, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Swu FM, Love Saves The Day festival, just to name a few.

VVV018 / Qetsy ✮ Makhnovia

Antistandard Recs present their 18th release, this time coming straight outta Paraguay. Qetsy is at the controls, and he delivers pure fire on Makhnovia, following his appearance on our AntiWorld A compilation.

Makhnovia, also known as Free Territory, was a temporary stateless state that aimed at an anarchist utopian society during the Ukrainian Revolution between 1918 and 1921. It carries a strong evocative imagery, and each track of the EP is named after a concept that has directly resonated with Qetsy’s life experience throughout 2020: resistance, pandemic, violence, judgement. Such words are vividly and aptly transposed into sounds: starting with a surprising spoken word in Italian, its core is footwork/juke mixed with a milkshake of techno, breaks, vocal samples, hoover bass and eski grime.
To complete the journey, two wonderful remixes: an even deadlier bass affair by Gyro (Main Course / RVBRA), and a balearic downtempo vision by FPOM.
Bienvenido. Or better.. Добро пожаловать.

Natlek

For its seventeenth release, Antistandard Recs is proud to present Natlek's (Merge Layers) last effort to date: "Research And Development".

As the title suggests, this record sees the established producer and dj approaching and developing a new composing method, aiming at a more physical feel for the music itself. Natlek has experimented with live composition while conceiving this work. The results are 4 club-ready tracks encompassing techno, electro and UK bass with savage cyber squeaks that will make bodies twitch in dark rooms, and portray a strong and hopeful desire to go back raving in clubs as soon as possible.

___________________________________________________________◢

✮ Natlek is an Italian producer and DJ, co-founder of Merge Layers label with Nobel, with whom he also curated a monthly show on Radar Radio (London) and currently on Radio Raheem (Milan).
He has three EPs, multiple singles, remixes and one album to his credit. With eternal evolution, club music, techno, house, IDM influence his productions that received a lot of support in Italy and abroad played on Babylon Rai Radio 2, M2O, BBC Radio 1, NTS, Rinse France, BlockFM, Radar Radio, etc.; he also curated various radioshows: on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra guest for Toddla T, Rinse France, Hotel Radio Paris, Radar Radio, to name a few.
2016 was an important year to consolidate his name, he was a guest of the Overdrive Infinity program in Paris curated by Teki Latex and made its first English date playing in Rye Wax in London.

The sixteenth release by Antistandard Recs is a collection of soundtracks of 11 of his photographic works, made by various music producers selected by Matteo himself.

Sovrasensibile wants to be a personal quest for the abstract within the real, a "re-search" for patterns and irregular shapes associated with the sonic dimension. Observing the world through vibrations that can be heard and seen, decontextualizing that world, looking at it in a detached way and conceiving it again in an attempt to express what we perceive and translate unconsciously, without questioning what it really means. From the distortion of reality to a new imaginary, to establish a new connection between objectivity and the unrepresentable.
Musicians from different and distant backgrounds gathered to give life to 11 non-mediated interpretations of 11 distortions, with the aim of expressing a subtle reality hidden in the lights and shadows of an approximation so violated and disfigured that it moves into the background - hidden and elusive. The only constraint was to make the recognizable unrecognizable.

VVV015 / L O S C I ✮ Tarantolato

Fifteenth Antistandard Records release is the first EP that sees L O S C I explore his passion for natural sciences and predatory dynamics in the wild world. From the title, the connection between intoxication and dance is clear: through the use of deep dirty basses, pounding grimey percussions, ghastly pads and cuts from documentaries, "Tarantolato" tells the rise of a merciless mental control system.

___________________________________________________________◢

✮ L O S C I is the name of the musical output of Francesco Ladisa, south italian lo-fi addict, who explores connections between mysticism, rave culture, new shapes of traditional music from all over the world and new and old myths. He is part of the Antistandard Recs as A&R and resident dj. Podcast from him has been sent on Noods Radio [UK], 1020 Radio [UK] and Unika.FM [ES], Datafruits [US], Fritto.FM [IT] in Antistandard formats and a special show for his second Ep promotion on hystorical italian radio show Mixology hosted by the Legend Andrea Mi.
He has some releases by his own on bandcamp and some tracks out on compilations from italian labels Biodiversità and Ghost City Collective and on finnish Top Billin Music and he is about ti release his first full lenght album in 2021.
