Counterwave

Recorded between March, 2025 & January, 2026 featuring an abundance of field recordings as well as acoustic, electroacoustic and electronic instruments.

This is a follow up to my 2025 album Linear Wave. While Counterwave wasn't produced entirely with the Roland SP404 mkII like its predecessor, it was still used heavily in the recording process.

Chicago, 1904: Piano Explorations

This is my offering for Piano Day 2026

Chicago, 1904 is a tribute to my antique upright piano made by the Cable Company of Chicago. According to the serial number, it was manufactured in 1904. This is a collection of heavily affected recordings from my piano. I'm not super proficient on piano, so my main focus is on moods and textures. I call these "explorations" because that's the best word I can think of to describe them. Resampling, stretching, layering, processing and other effects have been implemented using various methods, both hardware and software.

Lights & Illusions

Fields of Few

Lights and Illusions is a beautiful record. I’d say it was effortless in its excellence but Fields of Few worked really hard on it, and it shows. Every second of this record oozes light, via the choice of synth textures and melodies brimming with shining hope.

Frostlines

This is the Time Rival sound I hope for whenever engaging with a new selection of tracks by Mr. Michael Southard. A sound not unlike being seduced by an array of haunted bells. In a good way. Packed cleverly with genre-bending excursions and experimental use of textures too varied and frankly, hypnotic to put a number on. These are cold themed tracks, but the warmth shines on through via Southard's clear adoration for his craft. Once you've heard, you'll agree it's there.
