Description:
Dallas Police is the audio adaptation of the original 1991 pilot for the television program Dallas Police, produced by Hideous Piglet Wild-a-Beast and originally released through Dead Dog Records on VHS. Presented as “S01E01: Mrs. Lopez & the Closet Man,” the 2:55-minute episode captures the raw, chaotic spirit of underground DIY filmmaking and distills it into a tightly wound blast of lo-fi performance art. Originally conceived as a visual project, the album version transforms the pilot into a purely sonic experience—grainy, absurd, and deliberately unpolished—leaning into distorted textures, abrasive humor, and theatrical character interplay.

The cast features Overlord as Officer Bowser and Scum Puppy as the enigmatic Closet Man and the voice of Mrs. Lopez, with the duo sharing production duties across nearly every aspect of the project, from directing and editing to stunts and special effects. This all-hands-on-deck approach reinforces the album’s homemade ethos, where rough edges become part of its charm. As an audio artifact, Dallas Police plays like a bootleg transmission from a deranged public-access crime drama—equal parts parody and noise experiment—driven by the unfiltered creative energy that defines Hideous Piglet Wild-a-Beast’s confrontational, underground aesthetic.
