DKP, meaning Dragon Kill Points, are an archaic concept once used in online games for defeating... well dragons. This single takes the idea of the harrowing fight against a mighty dragon and pars it down into 3 variations of the highs and lows of wonder whether you will make it through or not.

Go Ahead

Mario Palmer

Smashing hit from up-and-coming French musician Mario Palmer, Go Ahead is a brilliant mesh between progressive and tech-style concepts. The track is lead by a strong, prominent bassline that screams progressive in its inception. This is countered and back by a well-placed flurry of hats and percussion one would expect for a quality tech-style track. Even after the well established samples have garnered their appropriate attention, Mario seeks to add just that right amount of extra edge to make sure this track holds its place. The edge… a simple, yet groovy synth line that mingles in and around the track with purpose.

Natural Mechanism EP

Manual Mucua

Manuel Mucua is no new name in the Techno spectacle and maintains a hefty image of his style. Manuel comes strong with no remorse in his latest banger Natural Mechanism EP. He starts off strong with the title track, Natural Mechanism; a dark, rolling track that features heavy kicks and eerie-like samplers that progress this track vibrantly. He follows this up with his equally heavy Papelito. This brilliant follow-up lightens up the darkened mood of Natural Mechanism but provides rusted look into a more airy concept. Both tracks engrave the essence of what it means to be truly Techno.

Make It Real EP

Robbie Nietveld

Techno super-duo Hady Basha and Robbie Nietveld come running back with their follow-up release and they bring it hard. ‘Make It Real EP’ is not for the faint of heart and is a must for any quality techno arsenal. Starting off with the title track Make It Real, it brings a pure unadulterated “bump” that carries the low end, providing a truly strong backbone. It comes outfitted with a deep protruding voice, precise risers, and only the best crafted percussion loops they can offer. This is quickly followed up with the clean-cut, yet strangely as dangerous, We Freakin’ Out. Sure to make a boom on even the most intimate of dance floors, it displays the brilliance only these two can compile. The track comes stock, lock, and loaded with a well placed vox which gives the track name its staple and a thumpin’ bass that brings the bounce and knows no bounds.

That Time of the Year

Vince

Silva is no stranger to deep, euphoric structures; painting a brilliant collage in sound. In his latest single, That Time of the Year strives to be that epitome; self described and combines the essence of what any one considers “that time of the year” for them. This tune is built by a soft rhythmic pad, airy whistle-like riffs and the encumbering sub bass patterns. It truly provides for a solitary Deep House chiller. Of course, such a release could never truly go without an equally based remix. Stepping the progression up, brightening the mood and adding just that right amount of drive, Vince proudly displays his “Spring Remix” as the perfect follow up. Headed by a driven bass line, this remix creates a more progressive venture though remaining true to its deep heritage in its use of deep pads and airy synth lines.

De La Morra EP

Label boss Jon Salem captures the primordial essence of what it means to be Tech House with his latest EP, De La Morra. In a striking way, this simplistic yet effective EP manages to do exactly the job it’s intending. Starting off with title track, De La Morra is a low driven high-set bouncer. It features a main drive through a series of synths, stabs and dancing hats. This is quickly followed up by Rithma, the ying to De La Morra’s yang. Rithma takes the off-beat path, featuring a jumpy bass melody that is lead by hard hats and delayed stabs. Each track fits within its own right to and against each other; essential to have for the bounciest of sets.
