Morphosis

Toxxi

Morphosis is an EP embracing change. It shifts my sound into a more organic and experimental territory while staying firmly rooted in the electronic realm.

This project has been an incredibly valuable experience for me. It gave new purpose to some of my demos I'd never thought I'd finish, but also sparked some fresh new ideas. I tried to break free from the idea that every track has to fit in some sort of arbitrary category or genre – it wasn't easy, but I think I managed to make every track at least a little unique, without sacrificing the overall artistic vision.

In the end, it's liberating to create something genuine that wasn't made just as another attempt to try to please the algorithm... in the age of AI, I'm sure that it's more important than ever before!

GŮRRR

Crosscut Saw brings you three brand new tracks by GŮRRR.
Formed by Aleksander Haugen and Girilal Baars in 2024 during an accidental meeting, the hurdy-gurdy duo strives to blend the acoustic instruments with non-standard electronics. GŮRRR also actively explores extended playing techniques on the already wide-ranging acoustic sound-generators that are hurdy-gurdys.

Two of the tracks are live recordings from GŮRRR's tours in Norway and Sweden and one is a studio recording. Acoustic noise drone linking the medieval with the modern, plainsong with the inharmonic, and the hidden with the oblique.

Männen som slutade öka

Chaos Pals

Männen som slutade öka is Chaos Pal’s debut album. The duo was formed by Olle Oljud and Girilal Baars in the early ’10s. In all these years, they have only made a handful public appearances. All of them iconic.

In the early 00’s Olle and Girilal both went through a period of heavy Kaoss Pad addiction (KPI and KP3, for the technically bothered). A decade later the sound was a bit outdated and we had both moved on to other sonic dependencies…

One day, however, we had the idea of cross connecting our four KPs to each other. This enabled entirely new levels of instability and aleatoricism and proved irresistible to two sound-hooligans. And so there you have it — Männen som slutade öka [Fellows Rebuking the Capitalist Doctrine of Continuous Expansion and Growth], a 9-track album devoid of nostalgia, meaning and purpose.

Море наше поле

Surmachina's album "Море наше поле" ("The Sea Is Our Field") features folk songs and original compositions inspired by Russian folklore and modern electronics. The traditional sound doesn't become a museum piece, but continues to live and evolve, engaging in dialogue with synthesizers (Arturia Microfreak, Dreadbox Typhon, Make Noise 0-COAST). Flutes, horns, hurdy-gurdies, and analog drum machines (Elektron Digitakt, Elektron Tonverk) are featured. Vocals are provided by Oksana Knyazeva, soloist with the V. Sudakov Moscow Chapel Choir.

Surmachina is a project by a beatmaker and multi-instrumentalist from northern Moscow, incorporating ideas from classical hip-hop, analog electronics, lo-fi aesthetics, and Russian folklore. Each release experiments with sound.

The albums "Странные ритмы вечернего Подмосковья" ("Strange Rhythms of the Evening Moscow Region") "Японские Заметки" ("Japanese Notes") and "И тайное общество битмейкеров" ("And the Secret Society of Beatmakers") are dedicated to life in the big city, reflecting on the metropolis and its suburbs. They are recorded in the format of travelogues, with warm guitars, voice recordings, jazz melodies, and synthesizers. The releases "Onega" and "Хождение за три моря" ("Journey Beyond Three Seas") mix hip-hop beats, authentic instruments (Scandinavian talharpa, flute, Carpathian kalyuka), recordings of the Solovetsky choir, Pomor chants, and modern synthesizers and samplers (Arturia Microfreak, Dreadbox Typhon, Roland sp 404, Elektron Digitakt).

"Morphosis" is the title track and lead single from my upcoming EP. It is a departure from high-energy EDM, focusing instead on texture, emotion, and cinematic atmosphere.

This tracks is the first glimpse into the Morphosis EP. This EP is an exploration of change, and it reflects an intentional shift in my approach to creating art.

(But don't worry, that doesn't mean I'm ditching EDM for good😉)

The visual identity of the project is captured entirely with my camera - no digital art this time :)

"Dancing in the Blur" marks our first journey into colder, darker coldwave and gothic-inspired landscapes. Staying true to our roots, we’ve blended these influences with our love for liquid drum and bass, creating a sound that feels both melancholic and alive.

When Sleestax Attack (Hoobie Theme Songs For Grandville News Axis)

Scum Puppy

When Sleestax Attack (Hoobie Theme Songs For Grandville News Axis) is a quirky, lo-fi electronic pop single from Scum Puppy, created as the official opening themes and music beds for Grandville News Axis, a news program from Grandville, Michigan.

Packed with playful synths, infectious hooks, and Scum Puppy's signature offbeat humor, the release captures the spirit of gloriously chaotic community television. Blending upbeat electronic grooves with tongue-in-cheek production, both tracks sound like the soundtrack to a public access news broadcast that's just one technical malfunction away from greatness, in the best possible way.

The single features "Stereopticon (Grandville News Axis With Backyard Bob)," with vocals by Crawdaddy Q., and "Stochastic Terrorism (Grandville News Axis and Hoobie AF)," featuring Dr. T. Tom Foolery. Together, the songs deliver an energetic, ridiculously catchy mix of lo-fi electronic pop that perfectly complements the unpredictable charm of Grandville News Axis.

Whether you're tuning in for the news or just looking for irresistibly fun electronic oddities, When Sleestax Attack (Hoobie Theme Songs For Grandville News Axis) is a celebration of local television, DIY creativity, and the joyful art of making unforgettable theme music.

A musical journey through senses, memories, and places where the line between reality and imagination slowly fades into sound.

Each track is a separate chapter of this story — from the first touch of cool ocean waters, through nocturnal pleasures, to a morning in a hotel room overlooking the sea. A walk along a Hawaiian beach at noon, a sunset, a refreshing drink, or a cup of good coffee — all of it weaves together into a single narrative.

This album is about intimate moments, summer memories, and hidden emotions. It feels like a summer movie from the 1990s, watched on VHS tapes — slightly nostalgic, subtly sensual, deeply personal.

Immerse yourself in sounds of jazz, chillout, trip-hop, lo-fi, and ambient.
This is not just an album — it’s an experience.

Sètrâ [SE]

Wîllydây Nâmâlî

Kârâwîtân Küpíng Cûmplêng

"Sètrâ" is one of Wîllydây's most complex albums, both in terms of studio production or live performance. All the repertoires on this album are reworked arrangements of the original versions (from the albums: Kâr-Kü-Cû).

The composer blends Gamelan + Metal + Electronica in a balanced proportion, without any clash of tone scales and timbres. This concept is the result of Wîllydây's long-standing experimentation within the Avant-Garde Metal scene: since the album "Mâyít" (2017), or for repertoires of the metal band Axon Breeze (Australia, since 2017).

All pitch elements on this album use the "Nâmâlî : Pèlõg" scale [1 gêmbyâng (register) = 14 precise frequencies], which is a development of the Pelog Jawa (classic) scale. There is also a Rebab Jawa, with an extreme drop tuning (Pèlõg : Jî, Pât) following the first note on the Nâmâlî scale (Pèlõg : Pât). This technical configuration makes the string sound of the Rebab Jawa more elastic, yet heavy and dark.
